I recently joined an organization called Toastmasters. Part of our weekly meeting is an opening invocation. This invocation, or opening consists of a recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance followed by an inspirational quote, phrase, or idea to get the meeting off on the right foot.

It was at this week’s meeting that I heard this quote; “The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away” – Pablo Picasso.

We spend our whole life searching for what our calling, skill, or passion is in life. However, mastery of skills is only part of the equation. What makes us whole as human beings is not the acquisition of skills, but the selfless sharing of these gifts with others. So, if you haven’t already found your calling, by all means, search for it.

Once you’ve found it share it with the world. You will find that through giving, you’ll get so much in return.
